Digital membership card to grow your community

Give every member their card on their phone, with your organisation’s branding, and make membership feel special: they always have it with them, they are recognised when they arrive and they enjoy their benefits. You know who takes part and you look after those who come most. For clubs, associations, professional bodies and hotels with members.

Build your community, grow it and look after it

A membership card isn’t paperwork: it is what makes someone feel they belong.

Build

Adding a member is sending an email: within a minute they have their card on their phone, with your logo and colours. No printing, no waiting.

Grow

A link or QR code so new members can join wherever you are: on your website, at an event or at the desk. And the dashboard shows your community growing.

Look after

Recognise every member when they arrive, give benefits by category and, with RewardsCards, reward them for taking part.

What is a digital membership card?

A digital membership card is the phone version of the plastic card: it identifies each member with their name, photo, number, category and expiry date, and it is saved in Apple Wallet or Google Wallet. With CarnetCards, the organisation adds its members and its staff validate each card by scanning it with a phone: they see instantly whether the member is active, expired or cancelled, and every use is logged. Neither members nor staff need to install an app.

Status: CarnetCards is in preparation. We are choosing the first pilot organisations: if you are interested, tell us about your case and we will get in touch.

Why plastic cards (and your own app) fall short

What most clubs and associations use today.

Plastic card

It has to be printed and posted, it gets lost, and it still looks valid when the fee hasn’t been paid.

Your own app

Expensive to build and maintain, and many members never download it.

A list at the door

Slow, depends on who is on duty and leaves no record of who used what.

How the digital card works, in three steps

You add your members

One by one from the dashboard or all at once from a spreadsheet: name, photo, number, category and expiry date. Each one gets their card by email.

Each member saves it to their Wallet

With one button, in Apple Wallet or Google Wallet. It carries your logo and colours, and opens even with no signal.

Your staff check it with their phone

They scan the code and see the photo, the name and whether the member is active, expired or cancelled. Every check is logged: where, when and by whom.

You know who uses the card, and where

Every time your staff check a card, it is logged. You see which members use it, where and when: the data a plastic card never gave you.

What is the difference between a plastic card, an app and a card in the Wallet?

What makes CarnetCards different

Updates itself

If a member cancels, renews or changes category, their card changes on their phone without them doing anything.

A screenshot won’t work

Staff don’t trust the card on the screen: they scan it and check the real photo and status at that moment.

Your branding

Logo, colours and each member’s photo. With several sites, sections or brands, each has its own.

Benefits by category and place

Different discounts or access depending on the member’s category and where they show the card.

No apps

Neither your members nor your staff install anything: the card lives in the Wallet and the scanner opens in the phone’s browser.

No plastic, no postage

Each new member gets the card by email and renewals happen by themselves. Nothing to print.

Who it is for

Any organisation that has members and wants to recognise them.

Clubs and associations

Sports and cultural clubs, supporters’ groups, neighbourhood and trade associations.

Professional bodies

A membership card in the Wallet that accredits the professional and can be revoked instantly.

Hotels and resorts with members

Spa, beach club or resident members, with their discounts in restaurants and shops.

Gyms, coworkings and companies

Member and employee credentials that expire and are revoked automatically.

And next, loyalty

The same card will be able to earn points with every purchase and redeem them. We are preparing it with RewardsCards.

Frequently asked questions about digital membership cards

What is a digital membership card?

It is the membership card on the phone: it carries the member’s name, photo, number, category and expiry date, and it is saved in Apple Wallet or Google Wallet. It replaces the plastic card and can be renewed or cancelled without reprinting anything.

Do members need to install an app?

No. The card is saved with one button from the welcome email to the Wallet the phone already has (Apple Wallet on iPhone, Google Wallet on Android).

What about the staff who check it?

Neither. The scanner opens in the phone’s browser, with its own login. They scan the code and see the photo, the name and whether the member is active.

What if someone shows a screenshot?

It doesn’t work: staff don’t validate the image but what the system says at that moment. If the member is cancelled or expired, the scanner shows it, and the photo shows whether the card belongs to the person holding it.

Can a card be cancelled or renewed?

Yes, from the dashboard. The change reaches the card on the member’s phone by itself: there is nothing new to send.

Can I give different benefits to different members?

Yes: the card carries the member’s category, and benefits (discounts or access) can vary by category and by where the card is checked.

Can it open a door or turnstile?

Staff can check the card at the entrance. Automatic opening by tapping the phone is not in the first version.

What about members’ data?

The data belongs to your organisation: we process it on its behalf, as a data processor under the GDPR, and only what you decide to include. ID numbers do not appear on the card.

How much does it cost?

We are setting prices with the first pilot organisations. Tell us how many members you have and we will send you a proposal.

When will it be available?

We are preparing the pilots. If you write now, you join the list and we will tell you first.
